Does your kiddo get nervous to come to swim lessons? Not sure how to build their confidence? Here are some helpful tips to ease a child’s anxiety for swim lessons:

POSITIVE LANGUAGE:
Highlight the fun aspects of swimming, such as playing games and making new friends. 👫

START SMALL:
Begin with shallow water or a kiddie pool to gradually acclimate the child to being in the water. Allow them to play in the water without the pressure of structured lessons initially. 🏊‍♂️

USE FUN WATER TOYS:
Incorporate toys that float or are designed for water play. This makes the experience enjoyable and distracts from anxiety.
Gradually introduce teaching tools like kick boards or pool noodles as the child becomes more comfortable. 🤿

This persons sole responsibility is to supervise the swimmer/s without distractions, ensuring constant attention on the water for proper safety precautions.

We encourage every new swimmer to have a water watcher 🏊‍♂️💦

Times offered: 8:45am-4:30pm
Weeks offered: May 27-August 2nd (no lessons July 4th week)
Location: Various residential host pools throughout Knoxville.

When registering, choose the week(s) and location(s) that suit your schedule. You also have the opportunity to select your instructor from our talented team! 💪

Wondering what you all need for your very first lesson? Don't worry, we made a handy dandy checklist for you:

1. Swimsuit : a comfortable swimsuit that allows easy movement!🩱
2. Towel: Keep yourself warm and dry post-lesson.
3. Goggles: Protect your eyes! 🥽
4. Swim cap (optional)
5. Flip-flops or sandals: Easy to slip on and off poolside 🩴
6. Water bottle: Stay hydrated during and after your lesson.
