Swim Team Prep Swim Lessons in Knoxville, TN
Being a strong swimmer is an important safety skill. It can literally save your life! Besides, learning to be a strong swimmer can reduce the risk of drowning according the National Drowning Prevention Alliance. Swim teams are a great way to grow as a swimmer and to make great memories doing it!
What skills does a student need to join a swim team?
First off, most swim teams require students to be at least 4 years old, if not 5 years old. Many swim teams require a student to at least be able to swim 25 yards. Other teams require that they have a basic understanding of the 4 swimming strokes. Either way, we will give your student the skills they need to feel confident their first day of practice!
How many swim lessons should I book for my student to be ready for a swim team?
If you are looking to join a swim team, then your student is most likely already a Level 4 or 5. If they are a Level 4, then we recommend at least 5 lessons to get them to Level 5. Once a student is Level 5, we recommend 5 lessons to give them a strong introduction to the 4 swimming strokes. After that, it depends on how advanced you want you student’s stokes to be!

Our Teaching Philosophy
The All Knox Swim Teaching Philosophy is what we call the family oriented model. The family oriented model is a way of teaching swim lessons and water safety that incorporates the whole family. There are two aspects of the family oriented model:
Family Involved Swim Lessons
- We gather lots of information on your registration, such as how much you want us to "push" your student, because you know what your child needs better than anyone
- Parents stay in the pool area the entire lesson
- Parents of infants and toddlers get in the water with the student
- We teach private lessons so we have time to get your input before, during, and after your lessons.
Water Safety for the Whole Family
- We do role playing during swim lessons to practice water safety
- We share water safety information with families through many avenues, including our website
- You can ask us questions about water safety at any time
- We teach private lessons to allow the most time possible for personalized water safety instruction
